We love our smartphones, tablets and systems don’t we? They provide us with a totally virtual world we love being in. But what if the virtual world and the real world mix up to form something completely different but very useful? Would it not rock the markets?
Well, Augmented reality (AR) is here and is already rocking. Basically, AR is a technology which makes computer generated images a part of the real world in real time.
This technology can turn out to be very useful for humans as it has the capability to make our environment simpler (or more complicated?).
You might have heard about Pokémon Go. The augmented reality game which took over the world in 2016. The countries it was not introduced to were longing for it and downloading it’s APK versions. There is another trending app called Zombies, Run! in which you have to run in the real world while listening to screams and zombies chasing you. Gaming is not the only area where AR is stealing the market. The Google translate app has a feature in its camera through which you can click pictures of sign boards or anything written anywhere and it will translate it into the language you understand, that too in real time. (As a ridiculous introvert, I can peacefully plan a trip to China now!)
Augmented reality can also be used to give tutorials and can be used in the field of education. Imagine a frog in front of you in the biology lab and you are checking your textbook throughout to dissect it properly. Now alter your imagination, make the textbook vanish and your smartphone appear. You switch on the camera of an awesome app, it analyzes the frog and marks where to dissect. Wait, did we just give you a startup idea?
Still not convinced that investing in AR projects have great possibilities to be fruitful? Okay, here is what Tim Cook had to say in a tech conference in Utah.
“I do think that a significant portion of the population of developed countries, and eventually all countries, will have AR experiences every day, almost like eating three meals a day. It will become that much a part of you”
Tim Cook not just said it he worked upon it. According to The Verge, Apple is planning to launch an ARkit to make our augmented reality user experience better, faster and stable.
Let us tell you another not so well kept secret. AR can help save earth from the demon called pollution. You want to know how? See for yourself.
